Company Description

Spear, founded in 2017 and based in Tel Aviv, develops and manufactures the Viper family of advanced Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) for leading defence forces.

As the leading system house in Israel for tactical UAS focusing both on the battalion echelon and submarines, we provide end-to-end system development from concept and design through integration and field testing - delivering AI-powered loitering systems that give any combat unit an “inherent air force” with minimal training.

Our multidisciplinary teams work across hardware, software, computer vision, artificial intelligence, communications, navigation, motion control, and electro-mechanics.

As we continue to grow rapidly, we are looking for talented team players to join our success.

  • Full ownership of the hardware development lifecycle - from concept and design through implementation, testing, and transition to serial production.
  • Execution of board bring-up, validation, and verification testing.
  • Hardware troubleshooting and root cause analysis in lab and in the field
  • Preparation of supporting documentation, test reports, and design reviews.
  • Addressing EMI/EMC challenges and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Support system integration, qualification, and field testing activities.
  • leading of cross-organizational hardware processes aimed at improving product quality, testing efficiency, and readiness for production.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Electrical / Electronic Engineering - mandatory.
  • 7+ years of proven experience in electronic board design - mandatory.
  • Proficiency with OrCAD and Allegro design tools - mandatory.
  • Practical understanding and high hands-on capability - mandatory.
  • Strong ability to lead tasks independently, from concept to implementation and delivery.
  • Methodical and organized approach to problem solving and execution.
  • Excellent teamwork skills, sense of ownership, and accountability.
  • Willingness to take part in system integration and field-testing activities.
  • Hands-on experience with communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, PCI, Ethernet)
  • Experience in power board design - advantage
  • Familiarity with LTspice and PSpice simulation tools - advantage
  • Knowledge of avionics systems, interfaces, and communication standards - advantage.
  • Experience with EMI/EMC testing and compliance - advantage.
