We are looking for a highly motivated System Engineering Student with strong technical skills and strong interpersonal abilities. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in medical device development and contribute to key system engineering activities, including documentation, end-to-end traceability, risk management, and system-level characterization. A unique aspect of this position is the opportunity to build solutions from scratch, creating AI-powered tools and agents that solve real team challenges, improve efficiency, and streamline workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Support system engineering activities with a focus on documentation, traceability, risk management, and investigations.
- Maintain and drive end-to-end traceability, ensuring requirements, risks, and verification/validation evidence are properly linked and aligned with applicable standards.
- Ensure work items and records are complete, consistent, and compliant.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system-level activities throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring system behavior, performance, and usability meet defined requirements.
- Execute device troubleshooting and root cause investigations by collecting data, analyzing findings, and documenting conclusions.
Design and build AI-powered tools and agents to automate documentation, support test planning and enhance team workflows. Responsible for the full lifecycle of these tools, from development throughout implementation, adoption, and continuous
Requirements:
- B.Sc. student in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with at least 1.5 years remaining until graduation - Must
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English - Must
- Hands-on experience or strong drive to build practical AI-based tools and automations - Must
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Python/C#/C++) - Advantage
- Background in image processing - Advantage.
