Role Description

A major defense-related technological project is seeking a Data Systems Development Engineer to join a team responsible for the development and maintenance of mission-critical core systems, operating at large data scales and real-time performance requirements.

The role includes responsibility for the design, development, and implementation of Data Governance, ETL, and Real-Time Data Streaming processes, within operational systems that demand high reliability, stability, and strict information security standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, specification, and development of large-scale data systems
• Development and maintenance of ETL and Data Governance processes
• Implementation of Real-Time Data Streaming solutions
• Backend server-side development using Java
• Work with distributed system architectures and high-volume data platforms
• Integration with core operational and enterprise systems
• Collaboration within multidisciplinary teams, in compliance with organizational standards, regulations, and security procedures
• Participation in Agile / Scrum development processes

Mandatory Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in Backend development using Java
• Strong understanding of distributed system architectures
• Experience working with large-scale data environments
• High level of personal responsibility, independence, and accountability
• System-level thinking, attention to detail, and long-term commitment
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to meet objectives
