We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Low-Level Developer to join our growing Low-Level Research Team, part of the FortiMail Workspace group.
You’ll work on improving our detection and sandboxing technology, especially our Hardware-Assisted Platform (HAP) sandbox, which provides real-time prevention against sophisticated threats.
You’ll be responsible for designing and implementing low-level system capabilities, extending our sandbox and detection infrastructure, and translating security research into robust, production-grade detection and prevention mechanisms.
As a senior low-level developer, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our threat detection and prevention technologies by:
- Learn how our HAP sandbox works in depth and help evolve its architecture by adding new low-level threat detection and prevention logic
- Design and implement Windows kernel–level features, including drivers and OS instrumentation inside guest VMs
- Research Windows OS internals to improve malware detection, prevention, and visibility at the system level
- Research the Linux kernel and develop code in KVM / virtualization modules to support and extend our sandbox infrastructure
- Work on core infrastructure and performance-critical components of the sandbox
- Explore new detection ideas and help turn them into real, working security features
- Develop deep expertise in a focused area of security, becoming the go-to person on your team for that topic
We Are Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience in Windows/Linux kernel development
- Proven experience developing low-level security solutions
- Hands-on experience researching Windows / Linux internals
- Strong familiarity with C and x86 and x86-64 assembly
- Experience with Python
- Experience with debuggers such as Windbg, x64dbg
- Experience with reverse engineering - Advantage
- Experience applying machine learning to malware detection, classification, or behavioral analysis – Advantage
- Vulnerability research or exploitation techniques – Advantage
