Averna Therapeutics is seeking an experienced Data Analyst for a temporary 3-6month role. This position will support analysis, interpretation, and reporting of biological and experimental data. The role requires strong applied statistics, solid grounding in biology or life sciences, and hands-on data analysis skills. The analyst will work closely with scientists and cross-functional teams to ensure continuity of analytical workflows, data quality, and timely delivery of insights.
Position, duties and responsibilities
- Analyze biological and experimental datasets using appropriate statistical methods.
- Perform data cleaning, normalization, and quality control on complex biological data.
- Develop and maintain reproducible analysis workflows and documentation.
- Generate figures, tables, and summary reports for internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with biologists, bioinformaticians, and project teams to interpret results.
- Support ongoing studies by answering ad hoc analytical questions.
- Ensure continuity of existing analysis pipelines during the coverage period.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree or higher in Biology, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Data Science, or a related field. Preferred: PhD in a life science or quantitative discipline.
- Demonstrated understanding of core biological concepts, such as molecular biology, genetics, or cell biology.
- Strong foundation in statistics, including hypothesis testing, regression, and exploratory data analysis.
- Proficiency in data analysis using tools such as R or Python.
- Experience working with biological or experimental datasets.
- Experience working in a research-driven environment.
- Ability to clearly communicate analytical results to non-technical audiences.
- Experience with omics data, clinical data, or other high-dimensional biological datasets.
- Familiarity with data visualization best practices.
Work Structure
- Temporary Position, 3-6 months in duration
- Located in Israel, maybe a hybrid work structure, but will require some time in the office.
- General ability to flex work time/days to account for meetings across time zones.
