We are seeking a highly technical QA Engineer to join our engine engineering group. In this role, you will be the guardian of quality for our core platform capabilities. You will be responsible for designing and implementing robust automation frameworks, ensuring the architectural integrity of our testing suites, and validating complex features across both client-side and server-side systems. You will work in a fast-moving environment where quality is a shared responsibility, but you provide the strategy and tools to make it possible.

- Take part in the QA effort within your squad, fostering a culture where quality is integrated into the development lifecycle from day one.
- Design, implement, and own complex automation tests spanning engine logic and backend services.
- Own the manual validation of features across multiple services: identify edge cases, manage test dependencies, and provide clear "Go/No-Go" signals.
- Proactively identify technical and delivery risks, articulating the trade-offs between speed of delivery and test coverage.
- Act as a key player in diagnosing complex production incidents and ensuring that "post-mortem" tests are added to prevent regressions.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with Product and Developers to define "Definition of Done," unblock delivery, and ensure shared ownership of the product quality.
- Strong expertise in the team’s core stack (Node.js) to build and execute automated test suites (API, Integration, E2E).
- Expert-level proficiency in Playwright for cross-browser E2E testing.
- Ability to navigate and interact with the DOM efficiently for frontend testing, utilizing event delegation and understanding browser rendering to build stable UI tests.
- Proactively identifies and implements improvements to testing pipelines, deployment gates, and internal QA tooling.
- Ability to pivot testing strategies as the product evolves and independently learn new testing frameworks or technologies.
Requirements
- Deep experience in the full testing pyramid, with a focus on Playwright for E2E and manual techniques for edge-case discovery and UI/UX validation.
- Proven track record as a QA Engineer in an Agile environment.
- Thorough understanding of the Document Object Model (DOM), browser rendering pipelines, and how they impact UI test stability and performance.
- Deep understanding of testing levels, performance testing, and security-focused testing practices.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and testing environments within GCP - advantage
- Strong advocacy for and experience in testing Web Accessibility (WCAG) and responsive design - advantage
Advantages
- Familiarity with LangChain or LlamaIndex, LLM orchestration tools and frameworks
- Experience with Python.
