Job Summary

The Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization Release Engineering team is looking for an Intern to join us in Raanana office and who wants to gain hands-on experience with open source and Red Hat products. In this role, you will contribute to the automation and tooling that streamlines our release processes, with a focus on leveraging your skills in Bash and Python scripting. You’ll help manage the team's source code and deployment infrastructure, ensuring adherence to rigorous Git practices. As an Intern, you’ll also engage with modern engineering practices, including exploring and utilizing AI tools to identify and implement new efficiencies. This long-term internship will give you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a critical area of the OpenShift ecosystem, helping you develop a fundamental understanding of enterprise-level software release cycles.

What You Will Do

  • Participate in the development and maintenance of automation and tooling scripts using Bash and Python for core release engineering workflows.
  • Work on managing the team's Git repositories, including enforcing best practices for code submission, branching, and version control.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of new technologies, including basic AI tools, to enhance the release process, improve quality checks, and automate repetitive tasks.

What You Will Bring

  • Programming language(s) with a level of knowledge or years of experience: Proficiency in Bash scripting; Basic knowledge programming in Python.
  • Other engineering skills: Git (Must) - Strong working knowledge of version control with Git.
  • Soft skills: Open-minded and responsible; Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Foreign languages and what level of knowledge: Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Any additional requirements: Basic familiarity with AI tools and a desire to leverage them for engineering tasks; NodeJS + React (Nice to have).
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university program.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university program in Israel during the whole duration of the internship and eligible to begin a full-time role in 2027 or 2028
  • Must be available for the internship from May 2026 till April 2027
