Who are we?
Skai (formerly Kenshoo) is a leading omnichannel marketing platform that uniquely connects data and performance media for informed decisions, high efficiencies, and optimal returns. We manage billions in ad spending annually, driving commerce decisions for the world's leading brands. Established in 2006, we are a thriving organization with a unique startup culture, an incredible track record, and a vibrant future.
The Mission:
As the
Senior Director of Infrastructure Engineering, you will lead the organization that serves as the technological backbone of Skai. You will oversee the
Development Enablement and
DevOps and Cloud Engineering groups, building the "platform of platforms" that serves as a force multiplier for the entire R&D division.
This is a high-impact, strategic role where you will manage a
significant cloud and vendor budget, drive our cloud strategy across AWS and GCP, and ensure our systems are resilient, secure, and scalable. Crucially, you will lead the infrastructure evolution required to support Skai’s next leap in innovation: the widespread adoption of GenAI.
What will you do?
- GenAI Strategy & Enablement: Spearhead the infrastructure strategy for Generative AI. You will build the platforms and tooling necessary to enable GenAI capabilities across the org, facilitating internal adoption and ensuring developers have seamless, scalable access to the models and compute resources they need.
- Strategic Leadership: Lead and mentor a robust, multi-disciplinary organization. You will manage managers and oversee multiple specialized teams, including:
- Development Enablement: Focusing on Developer Experience (DevEx), Data Enablement, and Data Services, to minimize friction and maximize velocity for hundreds of developers.
- DevOps and Cloud Engineering: Owning the core platform, including DevOps, SecOps, Automation Infrastructure, Performance Engineering, and the NOC.
- Budget & Vendor Management: Hold full accountability for a substantial hosting and tooling budget. You will manage strategic relationships and renewals for major vendors (AWS, GCP, Datadog, Snowflake, etc.) and drive FinOps practices to optimize investment.
- Scale & Reliability: Define the vision for high-scale production services. Ensure reliability, observability, and rapid incident response through your NOC and SRE practices, maintaining high service levels for production environments.
- Business Value: Translate business needs into infrastructure roadmaps. Partner with Engineering leadership to ensure the platform evolves ahead of product requirements.
- Talent Management: Hire, review, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of managers and engineers. Build a culture of trust, versatility, and technical excellence.
- Engineering Staff Member: As a member of the Engineering Management Staff, you will contribute to cross-organization activities, driving efficiency, productivity, and innovation across the entire R&D division.
Requirements:
What do you need?
- Experience: Significant experience in engineering leadership, with a proven track record of managing large infrastructure or platform engineering groups (managing managers is a must).
- GenAI Readiness: Experience or a strong strategic vision for implementing and supporting GenAI infrastructure and internal developer tools.
- Cloud Mastery: Deep hands-on and strategic experience with high-scale cloud environments (Mostly in AWS).
- Tech Stack: Strong familiarity with modern infrastructure stacks: Kubernetes, Terraform/Pulumi, Datadog, Snowflake, Confluent/Kafka, and CI/CD methodologies.
- Financial Acumen: Proven experience managing massive cloud budgets and practicing FinOps to optimize OPEX/CAPEX effectively.
- Vision: A "Product Mindset" for infrastructure - treating the platform as a product where R&D is the customer.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead through change, inspire teams, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
