The Digital Trust Lab is building a cutting-edge AI Security Research Lab that will be the key enabler for our research programs across Device, Infrastructure, and Services. This lab will be the focal point where we design, test, and evaluate research to protect against AI security threats, translating ideas into repeatable, production-grade evaluation and hardening workflows.

We are seeking a hands-on Security Lab Platform Engineer to research, design, and develop the lab end-to-end on a proprietary cloud environment. You will stand up and orchestrate virtual machines, containers, microservices, middleware (queues, databases), and the Python control plane that ties everything together, at scale.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own the platform: Design, build, and evolve an AI Security Research Lab on a proprietary cloud.
  • Provision orchestrate compute: Automate creation of VMs, containers, and Kubernetes clusters.
  • Microservices middleware: Deploy and manage message queues (RabbitMQ/Kafka), databases (SQL/NoSQL), object storage, caches.
  • Python control plane: Develop Python services, job runners, and orchestration libraries that drive experiments, schedule test runs, collect telemetry, and expose APIs/CLIs.
  • CI/CD environment automation: Build pipelines (build/test/release) for platform components and experiment packs; enable reproducible environments and infra blueprints.
  • Research enablement: Partner with security researchers to define attack/defense test cases.
  • Scale reliability: Design for high test throughput, quota and cost controls, and automated cleanup.

Minimum Requirements

  • 4+ years in DevOps/Platform/SRE roles owning production services.
  • 4+ years of software development in Python, including building distributed services, CLIs/SDKs, and API backends (e.g., FastAPI/Flask).
  • Proven experience with Terraform.
  • Hands-on experience with containers (Docker) and Kubernetes.
  • Practical knowledge of queues/streaming (RabbitMQ and/or Kafka) and microservices patterns (event-driven workflows).
  • Experience deploying and operating databases (SQL/NoSQL).
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, TLS, routing).
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD, and automated testing for infra/app code.
  • Ability to work independently, move from research design implementation, and deliver in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Requirements

  • Security: Experience developing security products or core components of security product.
  • Monitoring/Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK.
  • ETL/ELT Data Pipelines: Airflow/Prefect, Nifi.
  • Performance/Scalability: Load testing, capacity planning, cost optimization.

What Lenovo Can Offer You

  • Opportunities for career advancement and personal development
  • Access to a diverse range of training programs
  • Performance-based rewards that celebrate your achievements
