We are looking for a Lead Integration Backend Engineer to establish and lead our Integration Team, responsible for ensuring seamless communication between our autonomous drone platform and external customer systems. This role is critical in enabling real-time data flow and operational coordination between multiple systems, including radar, command-and-control, and mission systems.
You will work at the intersection of backend development, system integration, networking, and real-time operations, ensuring reliable connectivity, data translation, and operational readiness in both lab and field environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead and build the Integration Backend function, reporting to the Core Development Manager.
- Design, develop, and maintain backend integration components enabling communication between customer systems and our drone platform.
- Implement and maintain APIs and services for real-time data ingestion, processing, and system coordination.
- Ensure seamless connectivity and interoperability between distributed systems, computers, and networks.
- Integrate external systems such as radar and command-and-control platforms with our autonomous drone solution.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve integration, networking, and system communication issues in real-time.
- Work closely with internal R&D teams, customers, and field engineers to deploy and support integration solutions.
- Participate in system deployment, testing, and validation both remotely and on-site.
- Lead technical decisions and integration architecture within the team.
- Travel frequently in Israel and internationally to support deployments, integrations, and customers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend development and system integration experience.
- Strong experience with Python.
- Hands-on experience with Linux environments (Ubuntu preferred).
- Experience working with Docker and containerized environments.
- Experience designing and integrating APIs (REST, TCP/IP, or similar).
- Experience working with ArduPilot - Advantage
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and system communication.
- Experience troubleshooting complex distributed systems.
- Ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in real-time, mission-critical environments.
- Willingness and availability for frequent travel in Israel and abroad.
