Overview
Senior Data & Applied Scientist – Azure Monitor AIOps & Experience (Azure Data)
Join us to build next-generation Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations (AIOps), developing advanced machine learning algorithms and agentic solutions to analyze vast data sources, detect service faults, and generate actionable insights for Azure users. You will be part of a team creating innovative anomaly detection and agentic scenarios, leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and autonomous agents for AI-generated summaries, root cause analysis, and resolution recommendations.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Data and Applied Scientist in our team, you will:
- Engage with product and business groups to drive impact of AI projects throughout the life cycle from idea creation through technology transfers, applied research, experimentation, implementation and finally to worldwide availability.
- Work with large-scale computing frameworks, data analysis systems, and modeling environments to build and apply models to real products and then verify effects through iterations.
- Perform rigorous experiments and evaluations to assess the quality and impact of your solutions and improve them based on data and customer feedback.
- Communicate technical findings and insights effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including researchers, engineers, product managers and designers to build tools and improve the end-to-end of our production systems.
- Leveraging data from various sources and domains to design and implement innovative solutions that achieve rigorous metrics and address customer needs.
- Ensure compliance to Microsoft Responsible AI standards throughout the AI system lifecycle
We believe in ownership. As part of our team, you will be responsible for the entire project life cycle. Starting from coming up with an idea, to business and data understanding, performing the research work, collaborating with software developers, product managers and other researchers, and up to developing the production code of your components. We also love to share ideas and inspire one another.
Qualifications
- MSc or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field.
- You have at least 5+ years of experience in Data Science, including hands-on ML algorithm development.
- Demonstrated experience in solving difficult problems, connecting theory with real world impact.
Preferred
- Experience with LLMs, NLP, and autonomous agent frameworks (advantage).
- Proficiency in Python; experience with C# (advantage).
- Prior experience with cloud technologies (Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
- Proven expertise in anomaly detection, time-series analysis, and agentic scenarios.
