R&D Team Lead

We are seeking a seasoned and execution-driven R&D Team Lead to join our growing organization. In this role, you will lead a talented software engineering team, drive strategic business impact, and help shape the technological excellence of our R&D function. You will be responsible for building and growing a high-performing team while defining architecture and driving initiatives that support our evolving business growth. This role reports directly to the VP of R&D and operates in a global, collaborative environment alongside skilled product managers, analysts, and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and lead a team of 4-6 software engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and technical excellence.
• Take end-to-end ownership of key domains within a complex, high-impact system, driving technical decisions, execution, and results.
• Utilize AI-powered development tools and agentic technologies to enhance team velocity and quality.
• Remain hands-on in a modern full-stack environment, contributing directly to production while guiding team members.
• Work with our technology stack: GCP (and AWS), React/Node.js (TypeScript), Golang, and MySQL.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams in hyper-growth technology companies - Must
• Experience as a R&D Team Lead - Must
• Hands-on experience in developing products with measurable business impact - Must
• Deep knowledge of cloud environments (preferably GCP) and industry best practices - Must
• Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills - Must
• Proactive, “can-do” attitude with a passion for building innovative solutions - Must
• Experience leading the development and delivery of AI-powered products or features in production - Must
• Experience in B2C or mobile app-focused companies - Must
