Role Description

We are looking for a senior Data Engineering Lead for a strategic and high-impact role in a major government organization.

This position leads core data systems that directly affect employee salary, pensions, grades, and entitlements, and supports enterprise-wide data consumers.

The role includes end-to-end ownership of critical data platforms: development, operations, and ongoing management. You will lead complex data pipelines, build work plans, prioritize tasks, manage teams and resources, work closely with internal and external stakeholders, and solve complex enterprise-scale data challenges.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering or managing complex data systems
• Proven experience managing teams of 5+ employees
• Experience managing projects in the government/public sector
• Strong experience with Oracle databases and advanced SQL, including performance optimization
• Deep understanding of data pipelines and data infrastructure
• Experience in Object-Oriented system analysis
• Experience working in Agile environments using Azure DevOps
