Company Description

Canotera is building an AI-first platform for legal dispute analysis and outcome prediction, helping digitize claim evaluation for insurers and legal teams. We’re already working with U.S. customers and backed by leading American and Israeli VCs.

We’re looking for a hands-on Team Lead to build and lead our core engineering team, ship production systems, and help scale both the platform and the team. This is a highly technical role: roughly 70% hands-on at first, evolving as the team grows.

What You’ll Do

• Lead a team of 3–5 engineers initially, growing to 8–10 over time
• Own delivery for a major part of the platform, from design through production
• Design and build backend, data, and frontend systems.
• Drive high standards in code quality, reliability, security, and performance
• Be deeply involved in technical decisions and day-to-day coding
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineers as the team grows
• Partner closely with product and leadership on priorities and execution
  

What We're Looking For

• 6–10 years of software engineering experience
• Experience leading a small team in a startup or fast-moving environment
• Strong backend engineering experience building production systems
• Experience with data-heavy systems and pipelines
• Solid cloud and infrastructure background
• Comfortable working across frontend and backend
• Ownership mindset with a bias for shipping
