The Mission

Large Financial Institutions (FIs) operate some of the most complex IT environments in the world. Cobalt provides an AI-powered lens into these systems, helping FIs map, analyze, and manage their infrastructure in real-time. We enable CIOs and CTOs to reduce risk, accelerate modernization, and gain full visibility into their technical landscape.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and own features end-to-end across backend and frontend
  • Design and implement robust APIs, complex business logic for financial infrastructure analysis, and high-volume data processing pipelines.
  • Optimize data models and ensure performance and extreme scalability for real-time, production systems handling critical financial infrastructure data.
  • Build high-quality, user-friendly interfaces
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering to translate complex financial institution requirements into technical solutions.
  • Influence architecture, technical standards, and development practices

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience as a Full-Stack or Backend-leaning engineer
  • Strong experience with modern backend technologies (Node.js / Python / Java / similar), ideally within an AI/Machine Learning or high-scale data environment.
  • Experience building frontend applications with React (or similar frameworks)
  • Solid understanding of databases and data modeling (SQL preferred)
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Comfortable working in a cloud-based, production environment
  • Ownership mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to move fast

Nice to have

  • Experience in fintech, financial systems, or payments
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, Docker, and CI/CD
  • Familiarity with event-driven or distributed systems
