The Algo ML team develops and integrates AI systems, including Large Language Models, Retrieval Augmented Generation systems, and intelligent agents, into Apple technologies and workflows.
We are looking for an outstanding student to help build state of the art NLP algorithms and AI applications for the Hardware Technologies group, from concept to launch. You’ll partner closely with engineering stakeholders to shape the roadmap, deliver high quality solutions, and continuously improve them based on usage and feedback.

Description
In this role, you will join a team of researchers and engineers developing AI systems and domain-specific Large Language Models for cutting-edge Apple products.
You will contribute across the research-to-product pipeline, from algorithmic exploration to prototype development and evaluation, and gain hands-on experience in building intelligent systems at scale.
Responsibilities
- Research and develop algorithms in the areas of NLP and Large Language Models
- Assist in building and evaluating AI systems such as RAG pipelines and intelligent agents
- Support the development of prototypes and demos for early feedback and iteration
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers across multiple Apple teams and sites
- Develop tools and processes to analyze and evaluate model performance
- You will gain exposure to the full lifecycle of intelligent AI experiences, from early research ideas, through experimentation and validation, to product-ready systems used worldwide.
Minimum Qualifications
- Independent, self-motivated, and auto-didactic, with strong creative and critical thinking skills
- Strong theoretical foundation and analytical reasoning abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with NLP and or Large Language Models, an advantage
- Experience with Python and machine learning frameworks, an advantage
- Familiarity with LLM application frameworks, an advantage
