Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated
Design Automation Engineer to join the
P-CORE back-end design team. The candidate will develop, maintain, and support automation infrastructure, tools, and scripts to enhance design productivity, efficiency, and quality across the physical design flow.
The role involves close collaboration with RTL design, synthesis, place & route, timing, and verification teams to ensure smooth integration of automation solutions in a complex SoC environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain design automation scripts and flows for P-CORE back-end (physical design, Construction, STA, ECO, and signoff).
- Support design teams with tool setup, debug, and flow integration.
- Improve existing methodologies to optimize runtime, scalability, and consistency across projects.
- Automate repetitive tasks and standardize reporting and data analysis for design quality metrics.
- Interface with CAD, EDA vendors, and IT to resolve tool and infrastructure issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the back-end design environment.

Qualifications
Education:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Engineering.
Required Skills And Experience
- Experience in design automation or CAD support for physical design (P&R, STA, or signoff flows)- Advantage.
- Strong programming/scripting skills in TCL, Python, and Perl.
- Solid understanding of the ASIC back-end flow — synthesis, floorplanning, place & route, timing closure, and signoff.
- Experience with Synopsys, Cadence tool environments (e.g., Innovus, Fusion)- Advantage.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git/Perforce) and Linux shell environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, debugging ability, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large multi-project design environments.
- Knowledge of database APIs.
- Familiarity with job scheduling and distributed computing systems.
- Experience developing dashboards or automated reporting systems.
