Position Overview

As a Platform Engineering Team Leader with a strong backend orientation, you will lead a team responsible for architecting, building, and operating the core platform that enables rapid deployment, experimentation, and scaling of advanced AI capabilities.

In this role, you will combine hands-on technical leadership with people leadership, setting technical direction, mentoring engineers, and ensuring high standards of engineering excellence. Your work will bridge cutting-edge research with reliable, secure, high-performance systems powering the next generation of digital intelligence products.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision of the platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and long-term maintainability
• Lead the design and development of backend services and APIs for SaaS applications using Node.js and TypeScript (or Python where appropriate)
• Architect and oversee microservices and distributed systems optimized for production scale
• Drive cloud-native architecture using AWS services and Kubernetes (EKS)
• Define best practices for infrastructure as code using Terraform and Helm
  
  

Team Leadership & Delivery

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of platform engineers
• Provide hands-on technical guidance, design reviews, and code reviews
• Plan and execute work in an agile environment
• Collaborate closely with research, product, security, and engineering teams
  
  

Requirements:

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend, platform, or infrastructure engineering experience
• At least 3 years of experience leading engineering teams
• Strong experience balancing hands-on development with leadership responsibilities
• Experience mentoring senior and mid-level engineers and supporting their technical growth
• Ability to set engineering standards, best practices, and coding guidelines across the team
• Experience working closely with product, research, security, and DevOps/SRE teams
• Strong understanding of operational excellence, including incident management, on-call practices, and post-mortems
• Proven expertise in: Backend development (Node.js / Python preferred), Microservices and distributed architectures, Cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure), API design and integration, Performance optimization and system scalability
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services
• Experience with Go (Golang) is an advantage
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science or related field
• Strong leadership and communication skills
