The Vice President - Engineering Role

This is a senior engineering leadership opportunity where you’ll shape the future of Qlik’s data platform - spanning data ingest, SQL transformation, and our Open Lakehouse (Iceberg) capabilities. You’ll set the technical vision, lead a global engineering organization of 100+ people, and drive the delivery of innovative, scalable, and customer-delighting software used by enterprises worldwide.

If you're energized by accelerating the growth of a major, global data business and elevating engineering excellence across multiple product lines, this role places you at the center of that impact. You’ll partner directly with executive leadership to define product direction, align technology with business outcomes, and champion engineering as a strategic differentiator.

What makes this role interesting?

  • Shape the future of a flagship data platform: You’ll influence product vision, architecture, and innovation across ingest, transformation, and Lakehouse technologies at a time of significant market momentum.
  • Lead and inspire a globally distributed engineering organization: You’ll guide and elevate teams across Israel, India, Sweden, France, the US, and more - fostering a culture rooted in technical excellence, ownership, and customer value.
  • Drive engineering for scale, reliability, and world-class performance: You’ll define standards for quality, modern delivery, and resilient cloud-native systems powering mission-critical workloads.
  • Own the transformation to fast, predictable product delivery: From Agile discipline to CI/CD optimization and KPI-driven execution, you’ll refine and streamline the entire engineering lifecycle
  • Play a pivotal role in Qlik’s long-term data strategy: You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Design, QA, and business leaders to ensure technology decisions directly support customer needs and future growth.

Here’s How You’ll Be Making An Impact

  • Setting the technical direction: Define and execute the engineering strategy, identify emerging technologies worth adopting, and guide long-term architectural decisions.
  • Elevating engineering performance: Establish clear metrics, enhance execution predictability, and champion a culture of continuous improvement across global teams.
  • Building high-performing teams: Mentor engineering managers, develop scalable team structures, support global hiring, and cultivate an inclusive, high-accountability environment.
  • Ensuring excellence in production systems: Oversee the reliability, performance, security, and cost efficiency of cloud infrastructure, while strengthening incident response and operational processes.
  • Driving cross-functional alignment: Translate product and business needs into actionable technical outcomes, partnering across functions to deliver cohesive, customer-centric solutions.

We’re Looking For a Teammate With

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven track record of scaling engineering teams and delivering large-scale, complex products.
  • Strong knowledge of modern software development practices and technologies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience managing large software engineering (R&D) teams.
  • Prior experience managing remote or distributed teams.
