Our main Engineering challenges at Teads

  • Build efficient and easy-to-use web products used by thousands of users working for the world’s most premium publishers, advertisers, and agencies.
  • Rich and diverse tech stack and system architecture to optimize for performance, scalability, resiliency, and cost efficiency. We use mostly Scala and TypeScript, among others.
  • Working in a very high-traffic environment (2.2 billion users per month, 100 billion events per day) with low latency and high availability constraints (2 million requests per second, responses in less than 150 milliseconds).
  • Management of large datasets with milliseconds order of magnitude access time, to compute in a near real-time complex auction resolution algorithm (18 million predictions per second).
  • A fast-changing environment where we continuously collaborate with Product teams and constantly adapt our Cloud infrastructure for new features and Products.
  • Bring a wide diversity of profiles to the same level of quality and knowledge
  • Work in an international environment with offices located in Israel, Slovenia and France.

What Will You Do

As the VP of Cloud Platform , you will lead the global organization responsible for the backbone of Teads’ technology.

This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned tech leader to drive global multi-Cloud scale and foster local engineering culture. The perfect candidate is an ambitious and accomplished leader who wants to drive company-wide changes and positive momentum. You are not just managing infrastructure; you are building a Managed Platform that serves as a high-performance product for hundreds of engineers. You will bridge the gap between deep technical systems, such as multi-cloud landing zones and Kubernetes orchestration, and strategic business functions including FinOps, vendor management, and organizational governance.

You will succeed by fostering a Developer Experience (DevEx) first culture, enabling global developer-velocity, accelerating GenAI for developers, and ensuring that as Teads scales, our infrastructure acts as a catalyst for velocity rather than a bottleneck.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership & Strategy: Define the long-term roadmap for a global, distributed infrastructure supporting hundreds of microservices and millions of requests per second. Champion a multi-cloud strategy that balances resilience, latency, and performance.
  • Ownership: Reporting directly to the CTO, manage a team of ~50 Cloud and DevOps engineers spread across Israel, France, Slovenia and other international locations.
  • Managed Platform & DevEx: Shift the infrastructure paradigm from "ticket-based" to "self-service." Own the Internal Developer Platform (IDP), providing automated toolsets that allow engineers to define, deploy, and monitor services autonomously.
  • Multi-Cloud Landing Zone & Governance: Oversee the architecture and sustainability of Teads’ public and private cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure). Establish robust governance frameworks that ensure security and compliance without sacrificing developer agility.
  • FinOps & Budgeting: Manage a multi-million dollar cloud budget. Drive a culture of cost-efficiency by implementing advanced FinOps practices, automated rightsizing, and workload-aware scheduling to maximize ROI.
  • Vendor Management: Act as the primary stakeholder for strategic partnerships with cloud providers and SaaS vendors. Lead high-stakes negotiations to ensure the tech stack remains cost-effective and cutting-edge, while building strong long-term partnerships with AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Operational Excellence: Establish frameworks for proactive monitoring, observability, and incident response. Guarantee 99.99% availability for a platform operating under sub-150ms latency constraints.
  • Team Growth & Culture: Lead, mentor, and scale a world-class organization of Software and Cloud Engineers. Foster a culture that is IaaC-driven, data-informed, and "AI-first."
  • Culture Carrier – Anchor a strong local engineering culture in Netanya (IL) that drives belonging, motivation, engagement, collaboration and sustainable performance across ~200 engineers, scientists, and other tech functions .
  • Tech Community Ambassador - Contribute to Tead’s external technical brand through blogs, conference talks, and community leadership.
  • Talent Attraction & Site Leverage – Strengthens employer brand and positions the Israel site as a strategic contributor to engineering excellence and innovation.

Optional

  • Engineering Knowledge Leader - Lead and sponsor local engineering guilds, promote innovation and continuous improvement across teams.
  • Engineering Excellence Owner - Own and drive engineering best practices, code quality standards, architectural principles, and ways of working at the local level. Serve as an escalation point for complex technical or organizational risks affecting the Israel site.

Who You Are

  • Experience: 10+ years in infrastructure or platform engineering, with 5+ years in senior leadership (VP/Director) at a high-growth, high-scale internet company, Proven experience leading distributed, global engineering teams is required
  • (Multi) Cloud Expertise: Deep architectural knowledge of at least one major public cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure). You understand the nuances of landing zones, high availability (HA), resilience best practices, and global traffic management.
  • FinOps Champion: You view cloud billing as an optimization problem. You have a proven track record of reducing unit costs (specifically compute and bandwidth) while supporting aggressive system growth.
  • Strategic Communicator: You can translate complex architectural trade-offs for the C-suite and lead high-leverage negotiations with global technology vendors.
  • Tech Stack Fluency: Comfortable navigating environments utilizing Kubernetes, complex queuing/caching strategies, SQL/NoSQL databases, and modern software development practices.

Preferred Advantages

  • GenAI & Automation: Practical experience with Agentic Frameworks or familiarity with standardizing how AI agents access infrastructure data and tooling (e.g., MCP).
  • Contract Negotiation: Direct experience negotiating multi-year, multi-million dollar enterprise contracts.
  • M&A/Consolidation: A proven record of managing large-scale infrastructure consolidation or migration projects.
