Mertens – MalamTeam is hiring a Head of DevOps Team for a defense organization in Northern Israel

Role Description

Lead and manage a DevOps team in a security-driven, large-scale environment, combining hands-on technical work with team leadership.

The role includes driving DevOps strategy and implementation across multiple projects, building and maintaining efficient CI/CD processes, and continuously optimizing development and deployment workflows.

You will support development and integration teams throughout the release lifecycle and work with advanced technologies in complex, high-availability environments.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer

• 3+ years of experience leading DevOps teams (5+ team members)

• Strong experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)

• Experience with Git-based configuration management

• Scripting experience in Bash and Python

• Hands-on experience with Linux and Windows environments

• Experience working with Docker containers

• Kubernetes experience (OpenShift – advantage)
