Inviting applications for the role of AVP, Architect

In this role, you will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for translating architectural direction into actionable designs, guiding engineering teams, and ensuring the delivery of scalable, high‑quality systems across our product lines. You will support the VP Architect in driving architectural standards, modern engineering practices, and hands‑on solution leadership across multiple squads. This role balances deep technical expertise with strong execution, cross‑team collaboration, and the autonomy to influence engineering quality across a rapidly evolving product ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Architecture & Strategic Leadership

• Lead strategic architectural domains, owning the vision, roadmap, and execution for key technical areas that influence product direction.
• Drive cross‑team architectural initiatives with autonomy, defining scope, setting priorities, and ensuring technical alignment with broader R&D strategy.
• Translate strategic goals into executable technical plans that enable scale, quality, security, and innovation.
• Identify and lead major improvement programs — including modernization, scalability, performance, and cloud‑architecture enhancements — and drive them from proposal to adoption.

Execution & Autonomy

• Operate with high autonomy within assigned domains to define scope, priorities, and architectural improvements.
• Make architectural decisions that balance business needs, engineering velocity, reliability, and total cost of ownership; escalate only when cross‑domain alignment is impacted.
• Provide hands‑on support in critical design, debugging, and implementation efforts; step in where deep expertise is required to unblock delivery.
• Proactively identify risks, design issues, and improvement opportunities, and drive actions end‑to‑end without waiting for directive escalation.

Engineering Excellence

• Ensure systems follow principles of observability, testability, security, and operational excellence (SLOs, error budgets, performance baselines).
• Partner with engineering managers, tech leads, QA, and DevOps to deliver complex features with high reliability and predictable releases.
• Establish and refine architectural patterns, guardrails, API standards, and design documentation (ADRs, diagrams, threat models).
• Champion continuous improvement across engineering practices, tooling, CI/CD, and developer experience.

Cross‑Team Collaboration

• Act as the architectural bridge between product, engineering, cloud/platform, security, and support teams.
• Translate business and product objectives into clear technical direction, milestones, and acceptance criteria.
• Support the VP Architect in preparing architectural updates, technical deep‑dives, and roadmap discussions for senior leadership and clients.

Mentorship & Talent Development

• Mentor senior engineers and tech leads to elevate architectural thinking and decision quality.
• Promote a culture of quality, ownership, and continuous learning; support onboarding of new architects and leaders.
• Influence hiring profiles and interview rubrics for architectural roles.

Qualifications we seek in you

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture, preferably in product‑based organizations.
• Strong command of design patterns, distributed systems, and architectural best practices.
• Deep experience with Microsoft .NET (Framework / .NET Core) and C#.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure; familiarity with AWS/GCP is a plus.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud‑native services.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and event‑driven architectures; experience with Kafka/RabbitMQ.
• Proficiency with Agile/Scrum methodologies and modern DevOps practices.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical decisions across teams.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

• Experience designing or scaling high‑performance distributed systems.
• Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code, observability stacks, and SRE practices.
• Contributions to open‑source projects or internal engineering platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Experience in multi‑cloud architecture.
