XTEND is looking for a skilled and hands-on Drone Lab Technician to join our dynamic and growing team.
As a technician at XTEND, you will be part of the team responsible for the production, maintenance, and support of all company products, including R&D and prototype platforms. This is a diverse and engaging role that includes mechanical, electrical, and software lab work and managing lab operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assembly, integration, and maintenance of drone systems and related platforms
- Support engineering teams with prototype development and system testing
- Conduct lab tests, QC procedures, and troubleshooting
- Maintain an organized and efficient lab environment
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement state estimation algorithms.
- Integrate new sensors (IMU, magnetometer, GPS, LiDAR, radar, camera-based systems, etc.) trough signal processing and into the real-time navigation stack
- Contribute to control algorithm development for robust trajectory tracking and system stability.
- Analyze flight/robot logs and design improvements for estimator and controller performance
- Work on real-time, resource-constrained systems, ensuring determinism and reliability.
- Test and validate your algorithms in both simulation and real-world field environments and operations
- Collaborate with Embedded, Perception, and software teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Write clean, maintainable, and production-quality code.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of technical hands-on experience with electronic components, soldering, and mechanical work
- Practical experience in lab work, system testing, and quality control
- Proven experience building and/or flying drones or other RC (remote-controlled) systems
- Full proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
Bonus / Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge and hands-on experience with Linux-based systems
- Experience working with Monday.com or similar project/task management tools
- Familiarity with RF (radio frequency) and communication components
- Experience working with composite materials
