Senior Backend Engineer – Early Stage Startup

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and scaling our backend systems.

You will:

• Assume ownership of end-to-end features and deliver real value to customers
• Design and build scalable backend systems and microservices
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs
• Take part in system design from conception to production
• Ensure high engineering standards with a focus on performance, scalability, and security
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product, and other stakeholders through design reviews and code reviews
• Thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment with evolving requirements

Qualifications

Required

• 5+ years of experience in backend development and building scalable systems
• Strong proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Kotlin, Java, Python
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful APIs
• Experience with databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL or similar)
• Experience building distributed systems using modern frameworks, such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, Amazon SQS, and Celery
• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working in Agile development environments
