You will play a key role in making it happen.In this role, you will collaborate with multiple teams to design and develop cloud and AI services powering Akamai's Enterprise Security AI Data Platform.

What does our team do?

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our Data Engineering group.The Centra Data Infrastructure team serves as a vital bridge connecting data from Akamai's industry-leading microsegmentation product to our cutting-edge AI Data Platform. Our mission is to continuously connect, process, and deliver product data in a way that maximizes its value and drives data-driven product evolution

As a Senior Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Leading data infrastructure initiatives end-to-end, from requirements to delivery, bridging the gap between Centra product data and the AI Data Platform.
• Designing and implementing data ingestion and delivery pipelines, along with scalable backend services operating in high-throughput, distributed environments
• Writing reliable, efficient, and secure production-grade code (Python / Java) for large-scale systems.
• Collaborating across the organization with Data Science, Product, and Operations to build innovative components of Akamai's Big Data AI solutions.
• Shaping the technical roadmap, mentoring other engineers and setting engineering standards to ensure the platform scales smoothly as the business grows.
  
  

Do What You Love

To be successful in this role you will:

• 5+ years of backend software development experience.
• Have a proven track record in designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems.
• Have a deep understanding of API design, scalability, and system performance optimization.
• Have solid backend engineering skills, proficiency in Python / Go / Java or other equivalent languages.
• Have cloud native experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices architectures.
• Have Hands-on experience with data stacks such as Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ, Postgres (or other RDBs), Clickhouse, Mongo or Delta Lake.
