Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in software engineering, SRE, or developer operations (DevOps) roles focused on cloud infrastructure, networking, or distributed systems.
  • Experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java, or C++) for automation or tool development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience developing or supporting observability tooling (e.g., Metrics, Logs, Traces) using platforms like Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK, or OpenTelemetry.
  • 2 years of experience as a technical lead, product owner, or engineering manager, with a proven track record of setting technical direction and defining product roadmaps.
  • Experience in the networking implementation details of a cloud provider (e.g., VPC, peering, GKE/EKS networking).
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot network issues in a public cloud environment (e.g., GCP).

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible to engage with internal customers (Dev Oncallers, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Support) to identify critical tooling and data gaps in their networking investigation workflows.
  • Leverage expert knowledge of cloud networking data paths and implementation. Define, design, and drive the execution of high-impact troubleshooting solutions.
  • Set the team goal and roadmap, organizing task assignments, mentoring team members, and collaborating with cross-functional tech leaders to ensure successful system integrations, ultimately owning the overall health and reliability of the system and acting as a final escalation point for complex customer issues.
