Job Description
As a Backend Engineer, you’ll join a growing global team at Wix, shaping the future of eCommerce. You’ll develop and maintain the core selling and order management capabilities for all Wix verticals. Working in a highly distributed, cutting-edge environment, you’ll play a central role in building scalable, resilient systems that handle millions of requests per minute. In your day-to-day, you will:
- Build and maintain backend systems to process 1.5 million API requests and 400,000 events per minute
- Design, implement, and optimize scalable and resilient systems with an API-first approach
- Solve high-scale technical challenges in a distributed microservices environment (~100 microservices)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality across the platform
- Lead technical initiatives to improve system performance, reliability, and scalability
- Mentor and guide junior engineers to help them reach their full potential Strong communication skills in both Hebrew and English are required.
This position is primarily an in-person role, and candidates should be prepared to come to our Tel Aviv office
4 days a week, with
1 day working from home.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as a backend engineer
- In-depth understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and SOLID principles
- Background in design, with a passion for Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodology
- Knowledge and interest in microservice architectures
- Strong communication skills in both Hebrew and English
- Team player committed to the success of the team
