Company Description

Starbird AI leverages advanced AI, sensor fusion, and digital signal processing (DSP) technologies to transform the electromagnetic spectrum into a reliable, mission-critical sensor platform. Our innovative solutions ensure operational awareness and control in environments where traditional sensors fall short. We specialize in maintaining critical capabilities in contested and denied operational scenarios. At Starbird AI, we strive to push technological boundaries to create cutting-edge tools that empower our clients.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Signal Processing / Algorithm Engineer, based in Tel Aviv District, Israel. The engineer will design, develop, and optimize advanced signal processing algorithms, particularly for applications involving sensor fusion and electromagnetic spectrum processing. This role will include conducting research, developing novel algorithms, simulating and validating performance, and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams. Additionally, the engineer will play a vital role in integrating algorithms with hardware platforms and supporting system-level tests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience with signal processing, including advanced DSP techniques and algorithm development.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and tools such as Python, MATLAB, or C/C++ for implementing and simulating algorithms.
  • Develop and implement high-level system algorithms such as Kalman Filters, Sensor Fusion, spatial processing, and more.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in system-level testing and working with hardware platforms is advantageous.
  • A Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirement: B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with a specialization in Signal Processing.
  • Strong mathematical background — preference for candidates with 4+ years of experience in algorithm/Signal Processing engineering or a relevant M.Sc.
  • Advantage: Experience working with RF sensors (not mandatory).
  • Advantage: Solid theoretical background in Machine Learning / AI.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Background in reverse engineering or vulnerability research
  • Hands-on experience with RF lab equipment, SDR, designing lab setups and testings
