About The Role
Sunbit is facing significant strategic growth. We seek a visionary and technically skilled leader to head our new Infrastructure/Platform/Core Engineering Group. This role will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and managing scalable infrastructure, platforms, and cross-company services that are foundational to the company’s operations but independent of direct business logic. The role will work closely with all other departments to enable innovation and operational efficiency across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Infrastructure/Platform/Core group, aligning it with overall business objectives.
- Member of a group that leads the architecture and design
- Lead the implementation of scalable and reliable infrastructure platforms.
- Champion adopting best practices in infrastructure, platform development, and automation across the company.
Team Leadership & Development
- Build and lead a high-performing team of engineers specializing in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, core services, and automation.
- Provide mentorship and career development opportunities for the team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the alignment of infrastructure and platform goals with the broader engineering and product teams.
Cross- Company Collaboration
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to ensure the infrastructure/platform solutions meet their needs, especially with the squads in a guild model.
- Serve as the point of contact for critical infrastructure-related decisions and projects that span across the company.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives to ensure smooth delivery and operation of core services, platforms, and tools.
Technology & Infrastructure Management
- Oversee the management and optimization of our cloud infrastructure (AWS, RDS, S3, Kubernetes, etc.).
- Lead the development of internal platforms, ensuring they scale to meet the needs of product teams, focusing on automation, CI/CD pipelines, and shared services.
- Ensure the company's core infrastructure and platforms' high availability, reliability, and security.
- Collaborate on DevOps practices to enhance operational efficiency and improve cloud cost optimization.
- Innovation & Optimization
- Identify and integrate emerging technologies that improve operational efficiency and the developer experience.
- Drive continuous improvements in performance, scalability, and resilience of the company’s infrastructure and platform services.
- Own and manage the balance between innovation and operational stability, ensuring the core systems grow with the company.
- Metrics & Reporting
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the infrastructure and platform teams, driving accountability and alignment with company goals.
- Report to senior leadership on key initiatives, performance metrics, and infrastructure and platform development challenges.
- Oversee operational budgeting for infrastructure, cloud services, and platforms.
Recuirments :
- 10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, platform development, or related fields.
- 5+ years in a senior leadership role, managing cross-functional engineering teams.
- Proven experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, etc.) and platform services at scale.
- Strong background in DevOps practices and automation (CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code).
- Experience working in companies using SOA, microservices, and modular monolith architectures.
- Previous experience in a fintech or high-growth startup environment is preferred.
- Hands-on coding experience.
- Skills:
- Strong technical leadership and management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing team.
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, platform development, and automation.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, especially in a globally distributed engineering organization.
- Ability to balance innovation with operational stability and cost-efficiency.
- Experience managing teams across different R&D sites is a plus.
- Knowledge of financial services and regulatory environments is advantageous.
- Experience collaborating closely with business leaders in the US is a plus
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering scalable solutions
