About The Role

Akamai's Active Testing product enhances API security by identifying vulnerabilities early in the application development process. It supports development teams in implementing a Shift-Left Security Strategy, addressing risks and improving API protection from the start. Seeking a Senior Full-Stack Developer to join the API Security team, focusing on backend and frontend performance improvements and complex problem-solving.

In This Role You Will Be

• Innovating and solving problemsexploring emerging technologies, rethinking current solutions, and driving advancements in technical processes.
• Enhancing application performance by optimizing queries, designing improved APIs, and refining frontend interactions to achieve better response times.
• Designing efficient data models while optimizing database structures and queries to guarantee both scalability and high performance.
• Identifying inefficiencies, introducing improved tools, and enhancing workflows to support the team in achieving increased efficiency.
• Improving and modernizing the codebase while enhancing maintainability and applying industry-standard best practices effectively.
• Collaborating across teams, working with product managers and engineering groups to develop and deliver meaningful solutions effectively.
• Ensuring code quality by writing clean, maintainable, and scalable code while fostering an exceptional engineering culture.
  
  

Do What You Love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Have experience with 5+ years of Full-Stack Development, working on both backend and frontend.
• Have solid experience with PostgreSQL and relational data design.
• Have experience with backend development using Python, including designing and building scalable, maintainable applications.
• Have experience with SQL databases and writing efficient queries
• Have experience with designing data models and solving performance bottlenecks
• Have experience with Vue.js or other modern frontend frameworks
