Summary of role and team

We are seeking a motivated Junior Scientist (biologist-bioinformatician) to join our Cell Line and Media Innovation team on a temporary basis as a replacement for maternity leave.

Our team is dedicated to exploring innovative approaches to enhance the performance of proprietary cell lines, with a particular focus on media development.

In this role, you will take part in 80% wet-lab and 20% bioinformatics work.

Key Responsibilities

• Cell culture lab work: seeding and passaging cell cultures, cell counting.
• Analysis of bulk RNA-seq.
• Analysis of biological data to produce meaningful and relevant biological insights.
• Preparation of culture media for experiments.
• Collaborate with scientists from other divisions within the company.
• Analyze, document, and present results according to project goals and timelines.

The Ideal Candidate

Must-Have

• MSc in Life Sciences/Bioinformatics/Systems Biology.
• Hands-on research experience in analyzing NGS data (bulk RNA-seq and/or whole genome DNA sequencing).
• Programming skills in python and/or R studio and/or Matlab.
• Hands-on experience with tissue/cell culture and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to handle repetitive and routine tasks with consistency.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized professional with strong record-keeping, consistency, and communication skills.
• Team-oriented, adaptable, and independent thinker who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with biological models that combine experimental data and machine learning.
• Experience with molecular biology methods (RT-qPCR, DNA and/or RNA extraction).
