System Architect – CoolAutomation

About the Role

CoolAutomation, a global leader in HVAC IoT solutions, is looking for a System Architect to design and evolve our cloud-based backend systems that power advanced connectivity, analytics, and energy optimization for air conditioning networks worldwide.

What You’ll Do

• Design scalable, secure, and cost-efficient distributed systems.
• Define architecture and data flows across Node.js, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and AWS.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to align design and performance goals.
• Lead system design reviews and implement best practices for reliability and scalability.
• Optimize cloud costs, data models, and monitoring through Elastic Stack and CloudWatch.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years’ experience in backend or system architecture.
• Strong hands-on skills in Node.js, AWS, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis.
• Experience with microservices, message queues, and system optimization.
• Solid grasp of cloud security and performance design principles.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of ClickHouse or other analytical databases.
• Experience in IoT or large-scale telemetry systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD (Jenkins, Amplify) and Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
