Mertens - MalamTeam is hiring an DevOps Engineer to join a leading defense organization in Northern Israel.

Position Overview

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of DevOps processes — from design and setup to maintenance and optimization — following industry best practices.

You will implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), support secure development environments, work in air-gapped (isolated) networks, develop automation scripts, and build CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth delivery and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain DevOps pipelines and automation processes based on best practices.
• Implement IaC (Infrastructure as Code) and manage version control with Git.
• Support secure development and GitOps methodologies.
• Build and maintain CI/CD processes using tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
• Develop automation scripts using Batch, PowerShell, Groovy, Bash, or Python.
• Work with both Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Manage Docker containers and Kubernetes-based environments (K8s / OCP / RKE).
• Collaborate closely with development teams and participate in process improvement initiatives.
• Work effectively in isolated (air-gapped) environments and ensure secure operations.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer
• Proven experience developing CI/CD pipelines — preference for Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
• Hands-on experience with Git configuration management
• Strong scripting skills in Batch, PowerShell, Groovy, Bash, or Python
• Experience with Linux and Windows systems
• Hands-on experience with Docker containers
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, OpenShift (OCP), or RKE
• Background in software development — advantage.
• Experience working in air-gapped / disconnected environments — advantage.
