About Innodata

Innodata (NASDAQ: INOD) is a leading data engineering company serving over 2,000 customers worldwide, specializing in AI technology solutions for major industries including technology, finance, insurance, law, and medicine. We're partnering with the world's leading technology companies to build the future of generative AI and large language models (LLMs), including work with hyper-scalers on their AI systems.

Position Overview

We're seeking exceptionally curious and technically-minded individuals in Israel to join our global team as Generative AI Associates, focusing on prompt engineering and AI model training. This is a part-time, remote, flexible, project-specific opportunity designed for those who want to make a real impact—on their schedule. You'll help shape how AI understands and generates language, contributing directly to cutting-edge AI development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate as part of a core research team focusing on advances in AI and Agentic models
  • Design, test, and optimize complex prompts for large language models using systematic methodologies
  • Generate labels to advance understanding of concepts and trends
  • Create high-quality training datasets through rigorous testing and iteration
  • Review data and identify whether product features work as intended based on project guidelines
  • Provide reinforcement learning through human feedback (RLHF) with deep technical understanding
  • Analyze and refine grammar, syntax, and structure of AI-generated text
  • Perform preference ranking - ordering or ranking items based on set preferences or criteria
  • Rapidly learn and adapt to new AI systems, frameworks, and evaluation methodologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to iterate and improve AI models
  • Apply technical problem-solving skills to identify patterns and edge cases in AI behavior

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing OR completed a Bachelor's/Master's degree in:
  • Computer Science
  • Data Science
  • Computational Neuroscience
  • Cognitive Science
  • Applied Mathematics
  • Machine Learning/AI
  • Computational Linguistics
  • Physics with computational focus
  • Or related technical field
  • Strong programming background (Python, JavaScript, R, MATLAB, or similar)
  • Demonstrated ability as a fast learner who can quickly master new technical concepts
  • Insatiable curiosity about AI systems, language, and human cognition
  • Technical mindset with ability to think systematically and algorithmically
  • Data science fundamentals and understanding of machine learning concepts
  • Native or near-native English proficiency (essential for prompt engineering work)
  • Excellent analytical and pattern recognition abilities
  • Strong written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with NLP, deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow), or AI/ML research projects
  • Background in cognitive science, neuroscience, or psychology (especially computational approaches)
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering techniques, few-shot learning, and chain-of-thought prompting
  • Understanding of transformer architectures, attention mechanisms, and LLM internals
  • Research experience or published papers in relevant fields
  • Knowledge of Hebrew and/or Arabic (advantage for multilingual projects)
  • Experience with data annotation, experiment design, or A/B testing
  • Contributions to open-source AI/ML projects

Ideal Candidate Profile

We're looking for intellectually curious individuals who:

  • Are passionate about understanding how AI systems "think" and learn
  • Can quickly absorb complex technical documentation and apply it practically
  • Enjoy experimenting with different approaches to solve novel problems
  • Have a scientific mindset with strong hypothesis-testing abilities
  • Can work independently while contributing to collaborative research efforts
  • Are excited about being at the forefront of AI development

Work Arrangement

  • Hours: 20 hours per week (flexible scheduling)
  • Location: Fully remote from anywhere in Israel
  • Duration: Ongoing with project-based assignments
  • Perfect for students, recent graduates, or professionals seeking to transition into AI

What We Offer
