Job Description
As a Staff Engineer in the Data & AI Platform group, you will be a senior technical leader responsible for driving the design, implementation, and delivery of complex, high-impact features across CyberArk’s data and AI ecosystem.
You will set engineering standards, lead cross-team initiatives, and provide hands-on technical guidance to developers working on large-scale, cloud-native distributed systems.
This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership: shaping the platform’s architecture, mentoring senior engineers, and ensuring technical excellence and execution.
In this role you will
- Lead end-to-end development of high-priority, cross-team features and initiatives in the Data & AI platform.
- Design and implement scalable, resilient, and secure distributed systems in a modern cloud environment.
- Drive technical decision-making, influence architecture directions, and collaborate closely with product, data engineering, and AI teams.
- Mentor developers, support their growth, and elevate engineering practices across the group.
- Promote engineering excellence through code reviews, design reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate new technologies and guide their adoption where appropriate.
- Collaborate with engineers and managers across CyberArk to align standards, share knowledge, and lead technical deep dives
Qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on experience developing and designing large-scale, distributed, cloud-based systems.
- Strong experience with AWS, cloud-native architecture, microservices, event-driven design, containers, and serverless patterns.
- Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (Python is an advantages).
- Proven experience leading complex engineering initiatives involving multiple teams.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor developers and influence technical strategy.
- Strong understanding of data systems, databases, messaging/streaming technologies, and high-throughput pipelines.
- Solid experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, automated testing, and production operations.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
