About the role: 
As a Finance Data Solution Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring that finance-related data is accurate, structured, and optimized for analysis and decision-making. You will collaborate closely with the Finance team, data architects, and business analysts to design, enhance, and maintain data solutions that support financial reporting, planning, and performance management.
 This role suits someone with strong analytical thinking, a passion for data, and a good understanding of financial concepts and metrics.

Job Requirements

  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or finance data-related roles- Must

  • Education: Degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Economics, or a related field- - Must

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational data models.

    • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker (development experience is an advantage but not required).

    • Familiarity with financial data structures (GL, P&L, budgets, forecasts, etc.).

    • Understanding of cloud-based data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) is a plus.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.

    • Ability to connect data insights with business context, especially within Finance.

    • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to financial systems (e.g., ERP, FP&A tools, NetSuite).

  • Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks.

  • Familiarity with data transformation tools (e.g., DBT, Airflow, Fivetran).

  • Experience in a SaaS or fast-growing tech company environment.

Job Responsibilities

Finance Data Modeling & Analysis Enablement

  • Design and maintain data models and datasets that serve Finance needs, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and usability.

  • Translate financial and business requirements into well-defined data structures and processes.

  • Support financial data validation, reconciliation, and quality control across multiple systems (ERP, planning tools, and data warehouse).

Business Collaboration

  • Partner with Finance stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into scalable data solutions.

  • Collaborate with the Data team to align finance data models with organizational data architecture standards.

  • Participate in defining KPIs and metrics to ensure consistency across financial reporting.

Data Governance & Quality
  • Ensure financial data adheres to governance and compliance policies.

  • Perform regular data audits, validations, and reconciliations to maintain trust and integrity in finance data.

  • Contribute to maintaining clear documentation of data definitions, transformations, and lineage.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial data flows and improve efficiency in data preparation and reporting processes.
  • Stay current with best practices in finance analytics, BI, and data management.
