Job Description
Your Career
We are looking for a motivated Senior Automation QA Engineer to join our Cortex group in our Tel Aviv R&D center.
The team is responsible for the design and execution of both system and regression tests and also implementing automated e2e system tests of Palo Alto Networks extended detection and response platform that runs on integrated endpoint, network and cloud data. In this role you will participate in our group effort of improving the overall product quality by developing, maintaining and running automation. All of this in a fast pace process of development, test and release.

Your Impact
- Contribute to the API & UI Automation QA team, driving quality across our product.
- Maintain, extend, and optimize a complex automation infrastructure to support new tools, frameworks, and test types.
- Develop automated tests for new features, including both regression and progression scenarios.
- Design and implement automated tests for features owned by the automation team.
- Debug, stabilize, and enhance existing test suites, improving reliability, runtime, and maintainability.
- Analyze nightly test runs, track defects, and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
- Innovate and improve processes by introducing new automation strategies, tools, and best practices that increase efficiency and coverage.
Qualifications
Your Experience
- 4+ years of proven experience as an Automation Developer (Back-End or Front-End).
- Strong programming skills in Java or Python (hands-on experience with both – an advantage).
- Practical experience in testing Back-End and/or Front-End components across cloud-based and on-premises environments.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms - experience with GCP is a big plus.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins) and test integration within the delivery flow.
- Experience working in Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
- Familiarity with containers & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent analytical thinking and troubleshooting abilities.
- A true team player, who can also work independently and take ownership of tasks.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and present information effectively in Hebrew and English.
- A self-learner with a passion for mastering new technologies and methodologies quickly.
- Ability to perform well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and maintain focus and a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.
More Advantages
- Familiarity with Bash scripting.
- Hands-on experience with Pytest, Selenium, Playwright.
- Experience with monitoring and reporting tools, such as Grafana, Prometheus, and similar.
- Knowledge of AI testing pipelines or data-driven automation.
- Experience with linting tools for Python (ruff, pylint, flake8, black) and Java (Checkstyle, PMD).
- Familiarity with static code analysis and code quality metrics to ensure maintainable, clean, and consistent code.
- Practice of code reviews, enforcing best practices, and mentoring peers on writing robust and readable automation code.
- Knowledge of test coverage tools (e.g., pytest-cov, Jacoco) and strategies to maintain high-quality coverage.
