What You'll Build
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Junior Developer and Data Analyst for the TCO and cost optimization group. Our group works with many different organizations and lines of business within SAP and leading cloud providers. Expect to work in a dynamic environment and team
Some of the responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Analyze cloud cost & usage data and develop financial models to forecast and track cloud costs.
- Develop products and tools for analyzing large amounts of data, to provide optimal recommendations for cloud resource selection. Leveraging data-science, analytics frameworks and AI based tools.
- Work with different cloud providers and SAP internal groups to integrate APIs for data collection, to be used for enhancing our TCO data-model, for better decisions.
- Learn and leverage standard and cutting-edge technologies and products, such as K8s, Grafana, Python, machine learning, GenAI, HANA, etc.
What You Bring
- We are looking for a student/graduate with actual programming experience.
- Passion for data, with experience analyzing data using modern tools.
- Student for B.Sc. / Eng. Degree in Computer Science, Data Science / Informatics, with excellent record (e.g., GPA 4.0).
- At-least 1 year remaining for graduation.
- At-least 1 year of relevant programming experience.
- Fluent English is a must (both written and verbal).
- Proven programming experience is a must, ideally with Python.
- Knowledge of databases is highly desired.
- Knowledge of AI and/or machine learning concepts is highly desired.
- Team player.
- Knowledge of SAP HANA and analytics tools, preferred.
- Understanding business and financial aspects of cloud architecture is highly desired.
Where you belong
The TCO group optimize TCO for HANA Cloud (including all HANA Database & Persistency products), to deliver enhanced price/performance for LoBs and customers on all cloud providers, driving HANA-Cloud adoption, and better overall margin for LoBs and SAP.
The TCO team group drives the TCO topic holistically, including:
- Define and develop tools for large scale data analysis using machine learning and AI for on-going insight, to drive TCO reduction.
- Plan roadmap for cloud resources adoption, based on price/performance, capacity and demand.
- Automatic classification and recommendations for optimal resource allocation.
- Define and develop cloud services for smarter resource management.
- Define and formalize the TCO methodology for SAP HD&P business-unit.
- Collaborate with all products engineering areas, COO, as well as cloud providers.
