Mertens - MalamTeam is hiring a hands-on DevOps Team Lead to join a major defense organization in Northern Israel.

Role Overview

This position involves leading and managing a DevOps team within a larger group of DevOps units. You will be responsible for driving the DevOps vision across multiple projects, developing and implementing agile and efficient CI/CD processes throughout the development lifecycle, and continuously optimizing workflows using advanced technologies and tools. The role also includes supporting development and integration teams during release processes to development and customer environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a DevOps team (5+ engineers) with hands-on involvement.
• Drive the DevOps strategy and implement processes based on project requirements.
• Build and maintain agile CI/CD pipelines across the development lifecycle.
• Continuously optimize and improve DevOps workflows using modern tools and technologies.
• Support development and integration teams during release processes to various environments.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer – mandatory.
• 3+ years of experience managing and leading a DevOps team (5+ members) – mandatory.
• Proven experience developing CI/CD processes using tools such as GitLab, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
• Experience with Git configuration management.
• Proficiency in scripting with Bash and Python.
• Experience working in Linux and Windows environments.
• Hands-on experience with Docker containers.
• Experience with Kubernetes infrastructure (Openshift knowledge – advantage).
