Backend Team Lead / Engineering Manager

Join Iguazio as an Backend Engineering Manager and lead a high-impact team driving innovation across our Data Science PaaS and open-source MLOps and GenAI products.
In this role, you’ll combine hands-on technical leadership with people management, leading a team working deep in the Kubernetes ecosystem, delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance services that power AI-driven products used by leading enterprises. As a people and technology leader, you’ll foster a culture of excellence, ownership, and continuous learning. You’ll be responsible for growing and mentoring engineers, owning key architectural decisions, and delivering robust, scalable solutions in Python and Go.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend engineers working on Iguazio’s platform and open-source contributions
- Own the delivery of key features and initiatives, from discovery and design through implementation and integration
- Drive architectural decisions and ensure alignment with product and business goals; Bring in innovation and technical exploration in areas like distributed systems, Kubernetes, and cloud-native infrastructure
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Data Science and QA teams to deliver a seamless ML and GenAI experience
- Encourage engineering best practices, code quality, and operational excellence across the team
- Contribute hands-on to the codebase when needed, setting the technical bar and leading by example
What You Bring:
- 6+ years of BE engineering experience, with 3+ years of team leadership role
- Track record shipping large-scale, enterprise-grade systems, with emphasis on scalability, reliability, and security
- Passion for building high-performing teams and cultivating an environment of collaboration and accountability
- Strong background in backend development and systems architecture, with Python and/or Go
- Hands-on experience with distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native technologies
- Deep understanding of the Kubernetes ecosystem and modern platform engineering practices
