We are seeking an experienced Board Design Engineer to join our R&D group as a leader position . The role focuses on the design and development of advanced embedded hardware platforms, with an emphasis on SoC integration, high-speed digital interfaces, and audio/video subsystems. The candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end design process, from concept through schematic capture, PCB layout support, bring-up, and validation.
Key Responsibilities
System & Board Architecture
Define board-level architecture around modern SoCs and high-speed peripheral interfaces.
Select components considering performance, power, cost, and compliance requirements.
Schematic & PCB Design
Perform schematic capture for complex, multi-layer boards.
Collaborate with PCB layout engineers to optimize high-speed routing, signal integrity, and power distribution.
Implement DDR3/4/5, PCIe, USB 3.x, HDMI/DP, MIPI, Ethernet, and other high-speed interfaces.
Audio/Video System Design
Design and integrate multimedia interfaces including HDMI, DisplayPort, MIPI DSI/CSI, LVDS, I²S, and audio codecs.
Ensure synchronization and low-latency performance for real-time video and audio processing.
Validation & Bring-up
Lead hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation of new boards.
Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and high-speed measurement tools to validate signal integrity and system performance.
Collaborate with embedded, software, and mechanical teams to ensure smooth integration.
Compliance & Reliability
Design for EMI/EMC compliance, thermal management, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure manufacturability and testability (DFM/DFT).
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
7+ years of experience in board design for embedded/SoC-based systems.
Strong knowledge of high-speed digital design principles: signal integrity, timing closure, impedance control, power integrity.
Hands-on experience with schematic tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD, Cadence Allegro) and simulation tools (SI/PI).
Practical experience with audio/video interfaces and codecs.
Familiarity with industry standards: PCIe, USB, DDR, Ethernet, HDMI/DP, MIPI.
Strong debugging skills with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG, and protocol analyzers.
