We're looking for a Backend Engineer to join our Data Apps team!
Qualifications
- +3 years of professional experience as a software engineer in software engineering, architecture, and design.
- Experience working with data - scaling, understanding the data.
- Experience in designing and implementing large scale projects.
- Independent, fast learner, and excited about learning new technologies.
- Tech Enthusiasts - more important than experience is to have the passion to learn and get out of the comfort zone.
Bonus Points
- Experience working with data application technologies such as Spark.
- Experience working with Bedrock or any other LLM infrastructure.
A day in the life and how you’ll make an impact:
- Work with all of Melio’s data to improve the product — from analysis and understanding to applying insights for new solutions.
- Act as an all-around team player, influencing the product from overall user experience to technical development.
- Use top technologies such as TypeScript, Python, AWS, Spark, LLMs, Bedrock, and scalable databases to create a unique B2B payments experience.
- Understand and manage all entities in Melio. Create, creating a complete entity mapping.
- Build new LLM-based applications to enhance data quality and performance.
- Lead projects end-to-end, from requirements and design through to production.

The Engineering department is the backbone of Melio. We provide consultation, support and designs for technical solutions—supporting our customers and the entire organization. We get involved from the early stage of a project, making the connection between customer needs, our product design, and then translating these into solutions.

In Melio, we are all in with AWS Serverless. Meaning all our services are managed by AWS and our infrastructure is deployed using SAM CLI built over CloudFormation.
Serverless gives us the freedom to build, scale and deploy applications faster than ever. We combine the usage of relational and document DBS, write mainly in TypeScript and Python for consistency and ability to share resources.
