Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in Java.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- 1 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems and cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform.
- Proficiency in analytical thinking and system design.

Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of core routing systems, and research and suggest the team's next breakthrough to create even more impact in navigation.
- Develop the next generation of routing experiences by building innovative, research-driven solutions that bring value to people at scale.
- Support and improve our existing core capabilities, codebase, algorithms, and pipelines to improve accuracy, coverage, and robustness for millions of users.
- Mentor other engineers and collaborate closely with other Waze teams, partners, and stakeholders to enable hyperlocal, personalized, and impactful routing solutions.
