Senior System Engineer – Avionics Department Lead | YAHUD | IAI
MBT Missiles, part of IAI's Missile and Space Systems Division, is seeking an experienced System Engineer to lead the Avionics Department in the development and acquisition of guided munitions. These are advanced, multidisciplinary projects at the forefront of military technology.
The position includes:
• Managing a team of system engineers in the avionics domain
• Analyzing customer requirements and operational environment needs
• Deep technical familiarity with avionics systems such as navigation, fuzes, payloads, and more
• Defining performance requirements for avionics systems in guided munitions
• Designing and approving system-level architecture concepts
• Developing cyber resilience strategies for avionics systems
• Selecting hardware to support advanced AI algorithms, signal processing, and image processing
• Defining validation processes and test plans aligned with budget, schedule, and customer requirements
• Writing and defining technical requirements for avionics systems
• Leading development activities and managing the engineering aspects of the project
• Guiding engineering teams across disciplines
• Directing integration and testing teams
• Reviewing and approving safety and reliability logic and protocols
What we’re looking for:
• B.Sc. in Aeronautical Engineering or Electronics Engineering – required
• M.Sc. in Systems Engineering – an advantage
• At least 5 years of experience in electronics or avionics systems development – required
• At least 5 years of experience in system engineering – required
• Hands-on development experience – required
• Experience in large-scale weapons systems (Systems of Systems) – significant advantage
• Willingness to travel abroad
• High-level English proficiency – speaking, reading, and writing
