We’re now looking for an experienced and talented Director of Data Engineering (R&D) to lead our Data and QA engineering teams. In this role, you’ll drive the development of our data infrastructure to power internal tools, analytics, machine learning models, and the games themselves.

Role Overview
As the Data Engineering Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure and vision. You will lead a team of developers, and QA engineers, collaborating closely with the product managers, data science and analytics teams to ensure the effective utilization of data and drive data-informed decision-making across the organization. You will leverage advanced open-source tools and technologies to manage big data in high-volume and real-time requirements. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of data engineering principles and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of developers and QA, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management
- Orchestrate data operation with different companies and game studios
- Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and analysts to understand data requirements and design robust data solutions.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and high-performance data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Responsible for the design, development of the micro-services and Data MCP service
- Implement and optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing systems for large volumes of data in real-time environments.
- Evaluate and implement advanced open-source tools and technologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the data engineering team.
- Ensure data quality, data integrity, and data governance standards are maintained throughout the data infrastructure.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data infrastructure performance and reliability issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in AI and data engineering, big data technologies, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information system, or a related field.
- Proven experience (at least 7 years) in a leadership role in data engineering or a similar position.
- Extensive experience in designing and building scalable data pipelines with high-volume and real-time data requirements.
- Experienced with a major Cloud platform: GCP (Preferred), AWS, Azure.
- Strong proficiency in advanced open-source tools and technologies such as Spark, Kafka, dbt, dataform, and NoSQL databases.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and database management concepts (BigQuery - Preferred)
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate a diverse team, manager of managers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex data engineering challenges.
- Familiarity with data governance, discovery, data security, and compliance requirements. (GDPR, Data Masking)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Experienced with a machine learning pipelines, platforms (MLFlow preferred) and MLOps
