Senior Algorithm Engineer – Signal Processing & AI

Makalu Optics is seeking an experienced Senior Algorithm Engineer with deep expertise in Signal Processing and Artificial Intelligence (AI). This role focuses on tackling complex algorithmic challenges, bridging research and development, and delivering high-performance solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced algorithms in signal processing and AI
• Research and adapt cutting-edge methods from scientific literature
• Develop and optimize accelerated algorithms in GPU-based environments
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate solutions into production systems
• Program primarily in Python and/or C

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in algorithm development
• Strong background in signal processing and AI algorithm design
• Hands-on experience with GPU programming (strong advantage)
• Proficiency in CUDA (major advantage)
• Solid programming skills in Python or C
• Ability to translate academic research into practical implementations
• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field (strong advantage)
