Your Mission

We're looking for a Data Engineer Lead - Analytics to take full ownership of Canopy's analytics domain and lead the way in transforming how data drives decision-making. This is a hands-on role where you'll not only build and optimize our data infrastructure, but also define how analytics empowers both our internal teams and our customers through embedded solutions.

You will be the go-to person for everything analytics: from rethinking our existing data foundations, to enabling scalable business insights, to driving AI- and LLM-powered innovation that improves cancer care.

What You'll Do

  • Lead Analytics Engineering – Own the company's analytics stack end-to-end, shaping strategy and execution.
  • Redesign & Scale Infrastructure – Revisit and modernize our current data pipelines, models, and architectures.
  • Drive Business Insights – Build reliable data solutions for internal stakeholders, ensuring our teams have the insights they need.
  • Enable Embedded Analytics – Develop analytics products that empower our customers with actionable, data-driven insights.
  • Integrate AI & LLMs – Experiment with and implement AI-driven approaches to unlock new capabilities and smarter analytics.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration – Partner with product, engineering, and clinical teams to ensure data directly fuels impact.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering/Analytics Engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL and modern data tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies (e.g., Spark, Snowflake, Airflow).
  • Deep understanding of data modeling, pipelines, and infrastructure at scale.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to connect data to business impact.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with LLMs and AI-driven analytics.
  • Background in healthcare data or compliance-heavy environments.
  • Familiarity with embedded analytics and building data products for customers.
