The position:


Trigo’s AI-driven retail platform lives not just in the cloud—but in the real world: physical grocery stores, with all their quirks, constraints, and unpredictability. As we scale from a handful of stores to hundreds across the globe, we’re looking for a unique kind of engineer.

This is not a classic SRE role. It’s for someone who lives at the intersection of software, systems, and physical operations—who can guide complex deployments remotely, troubleshoot bizarre edge cases in live environments, and build the automation and structure that make all of it repeatable at scale.

As part of the Ops Technology team, you’ll take charge of deploying our system in live stores, working closely with customer technology teams and 3rd-party integrators. You’ll monitor installations, debug weirdness from afar, guide teams through configuration and calibration, and evolve the tooling that makes it all work across hundreds of diverse store environments.

In this role, you’ll not only operationalize deployments at scale—you’ll gain a deep understanding of Trigo’s core algorithms and engineering stack to ensure every store performs at its best. Your work will help bridge the gap between code and real-world execution, turning complexity into repeatable success.





A day in the life:


  • Oversee and drive deployments of Trigo’s system in stores around the world—remotely, reliably, and at scale
  • Guide and support customer tech teams and 3rd-party integrators during store setups (camera calibration, product database uploads, system configurations, etc.)
  • Debug and resolve real-world failures that arise when software meets physical retail complexity
  • Design and refine deployment tools and pipelines that support rapid, scalable, and low-touch installs
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, product, and field teams to harden the system against operational variance
  • Act as Tier 2/3 technical escalation, stepping in when deployment blockers need hands-on attention
  • Build documentation, processes, and field guides to enable integrators and client teams to succeed




You bring to the table:


  • 3+ years in SRE, DevOps, deployment engineering, or another multidisciplinary tech role
  • Comfort with Linux systems, logs, scripts, APIs, SQL and debugging across services
  • Strong problem-solving instinct—especially in ambiguous, messy, real-world conditions
  • Solid scripting or automation experience (Python, Bash, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, especially in guiding external stakeholders through technical tasks
  • A mindset that’s both structured and scrappy—you bring process where it’s needed, and duct tape where it’s not
