At Mentee Robotics, we are redefining humanoid automation by integrating cutting-edge AI with real-world mechanical intelligence. Our flagship product, Menteebot v3.1, is a fully autonomous humanoid robot built to operate in dynamic industrial and commercial environments — learning and adapting as it moves.

We’re now expanding our technical team with a Motion Control Tech Lead — a senior expert who will define how our robot moves, performs, and interacts with its environment at the actuator level.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the definition and validation of motor control methodologies, spanning BLDC/PMSM motors, harmonic and planetary gears, and advanced drivers.
  • Design and execute structured tests to characterize performance — torque, speed, resolution, responsiveness, thermal behavior, and more.
  • Collaborate with embedded and control teams to guide the implementation and tuning of FOC, PID, and impedance control loops.
  • Interface with mechanical and electrical teams to align actuator selection and design with control targets and test results.
  • Support the AI and behavior modeling teams by delivering clear, validated actuator models and control limitations based on real-world measurements.
  • Build test protocols, mentor junior engineers on execution and analysis, and filter out non-essential tests with good engineering judgment.
  • Use lab tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, encoders, current sensors) to verify dynamic behavior across integrated robot joints.
  • Drive improvements in actuation repeatability, responsiveness, and overall system control through precise measurement and feedback.

Advantages:

  • Experience in robotic or humanoid actuation systems.
  • Familiarity with Python for scripting and data analysis.
  • Exposure to motor driver electronics, EtherCAT networks, or real-time performance monitoring.
  • Understanding of how sensor noise, latency, and actuation limits affect higher-level robotic behavior.
