AIR (www.airev.aero ) is building next-generation electric aircraft (eVTOL) for private, defense, and logistics markets. With 2,500+ pre-orders and growing defense contracts, we’re scaling rapidly toward serial production.

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically strong hands-on SW Architect to design, lead, and evolve mission-critical software systems that support advanced aviation technologies.

In this role, you will own complex, high-impact projects, solve ambiguous technical challenges, and shape the future of our software architecture and engineering culture.

You will work autonomously, mentor your engineers, and serve as a key contributor to the technical strategy.

If you thrive on solving hard problems, writing elegant code, and driving engineering excellence, we want you on our team!

Qualifications

Required:

● Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.

● 6+ years of hands-on software development experience.

● Expert-level proficiency in C and Python, with strong system-level understanding.

● Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale systems and services, including bare-metal programming.

● Deep understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and performance optimization.

● Experience with CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, observability tooling, and software security.

Preferred:

● Experience in aviation, embedded systems, safety-critical software, or real-time systems.

● Familiarity with systems programming, distributed systems, or cloud-native architectures.

● Contributions to open-source projects or patents in relevant domains.

What We Value
